This 1972 Ferrari Dino 246 GT is one of approximately 2,900 E-series examples built through July 1974 and was completed on February 28, 1972, before being delivered new to Bill Harrah’s Modern Classic Motors in Reno, Nevada. The car is finished in Blu Dino Metallizzato over Blu Nuvola Connolly leather and is powered by a 2.4-liter V6 equipped with triple Weber carburetors and mated to a five-speed manual transaxle. Additional features include four-wheel ventilated disc brakes, 14? Cromodora five-lug alloy wheels, power windows, an AM/FM radio, and a heater. The current owner acquired the car in 2022, and work performed in 2023 involved re-sealing and detailing the engine as well as overhauling the carburetors along with the suspension, brake, cooling, and fuel systems. This E-series 246 is now offered on dealer consignment in California as part of the Mohr Imports UpShift Collection with a Marcel Massini Report, service records, a tool kit, a jack, manufacturer’s literature, and a clean Pennsylvania title.

Delivered from the factory in Blu Dino Metallizzato, the Scaglietti-built bodywork received repairs before being refinished under previous ownership. Additional exterior features include a driver-side mirror, chrome bumpers, and a power antenna. US-market lighting includes recessed rectangular front turn signals, side markers, and rear reflectors inboard of the taillights.

Silver 14? Cromodora five-lug alloy wheels wear Dino-branded center caps and are mounted with 205/70 Michelin XWX tires, while a matching spare wheel is located in the front trunk. The suspension was overhauled in 2023 and incorporates unequal-length A-arms, coilover shock absorbers, and anti-roll bars at front and rear. Stopping power is provided by power-assisted ventilated disc brakes all around, and the system received caliper overhauls as well as replacement pads and fluid in 2023. The steering rack was also replaced at that time.

The cabin houses fixed-back bucket seats trimmed in Blu Nuvola Connolly leather with color-matched upholstery over the door panels and console. Additional features include gray “mouse-fur” dash trim, power windows, a heater, a gated shifter, headrests mounted to the seatbacks, and a RetroSound AM/FM radio linked to aftermarket speakers.

The leather-trimmed MOMO steering wheel features a Dino horn button and frames Dino-branded Veglia Borletti instrumentation including a 170-mph speedometer, a tachometer with a 7,750-rpm redline, an analog clock, and auxiliary gauges for oil temperature, coolant temperature, oil pressure, fuel level, and amperage. The five-digit odometer shows 36k miles, approximately 100 of which were added under current ownership.

The mid-mounted 2.4-liter Tipo 135CS V6 features a 65° angle between cylinder banks, dual overhead camshafts on each bank, Magneti Marelli ignition, and a trio of two-barrel Weber carburetors. An engine-out service in 2023 involved replacing several seals, gaskets, mounts, and oil lines as well as overhauling the carburetors and cooling and fuel systems. A number of components were refinished at that time.
